The idea

Grocery shopping is a weekly chore for most households, and the slow part is rarely choosing the items. It is the trip, the queue and carrying it home. Grocista is a grocery delivery service from Lacspace built around one promise: the things you need, from fresh produce to pantry staples, delivered to your door.

Why a launch page first

We did not want to open a delivery service before we knew where demand was. So the first thing we put live is not the shop. It is a launch page at grocista.com that explains what Grocista will be and lets people sign up to be told the moment it opens.

A launch page does two jobs. It gives people who want the service a way to say so, and it shows us where those people are before we commit riders, stock and suppliers to an area.

What we are building

Grocista is being built with the same approach we use for client delivery platforms: a clear customer experience on the phone first, and operations designed so that every order can be followed from the basket to the door. We will describe the product in detail when it launches, rather than describing features before customers can use them.

What we have learned so far

  • Start with the promise. A launch page has to say plainly what the service is. Grocista’s says it in one line: grocery delivery, from fresh produce to pantry staples.
  • Let demand lead. Sign-ups tell us where to open first, instead of guessing.
  • Publish dates carefully. A launch date is a promise. Ours will be confirmed on grocista.com, and we will update this story when Grocista opens.

What’s next

When Grocista opens, this story will be updated with what we built and how it is used, and nothing before that. To be told first, sign up at grocista.com. If you want a delivery platform of your own, talk to our team.
