The starting point

Building software for a client creates a lot of small moments: a build to try, a question about a screen, a call to agree the next sprint, an invoice for a milestone. For years those moments were spread across email threads, chat apps, calendar invites and PDF attachments. Clients had to ask where things stood, and we had to remember which thread held the latest answer.

We built Lacspace One to put all of it in one place that the client already carries: their phone.

What we built

Lacspace One is an app for Android, iPhone and iPad, and a web app at one.lacspace.com. A client signs in once and sees the same projects, messages and invoices on every device. It is built around the things a client actually does during a project:

  • Needs you. Home opens with what is waiting for the client: an invoice due, a release ready to test, a meeting coming up.
  • Project progress. Each project shows its stage, percent complete, target date and open issues.
  • Releases. Every version, newest first, with what changed. When a build is ready, the client tries it and taps Approve or Request changes.
  • Messages. A conversation with the team on each project, without ticket numbers or lost email threads.
  • Meetings. The client picks a topic, a project, a day and a time in their own time zone; the team confirms and sends the link.
  • Billing. What is due, what is paid and the full history, with a PDF for every invoice.

More than a client portal

People who are not clients yet use Lacspace One too. Anyone can create an account to describe an idea and get a scoped quote for free, or book a call with the team. The app also carries everyday tools: turning photos into one PDF, scanning documents, making QR codes, resizing images, a PDF viewer and unit and currency converters. Lumi, Lacspace’s AI assistant, is built in for questions about Lacspace and the work in progress, and the community lets people read and join discussions.

How it works

The mobile apps are on Google Play and the App Store. The web app needs nothing installed, which makes it the easy choice at a desk. Sign-in works with a password or a one-time code sent to the client’s email, and each person only ever sees their own projects, messages and invoices. On Android and iPhone, push notifications tell the client the moment something needs them.

The screens we show on lacspace.com/get-app and in the stores are the real app, signed in as a demo client account, so what people see before they download is what they get.

What changed

A week on a project now looks different. A new version shows up on Home and is approved from the phone. A question from the team is answered in Messages in a minute. A sprint review is booked without an email chain. A milestone invoice appears in Billing with its PDF next to everything already paid. Clients no longer need to ask where things stand, because the app shows it.

What’s next

Lacspace One is where we keep adding what our clients ask for, because every improvement reaches them on all three platforms at once. Get it on Android, iPhone or the web.
