Most trading leaderboards are a single, brutal number: your rank. If you are 4,000th, that number tells you nothing except that you are far from the top. StockYatra — Lacspace’s paper-trading simulator on live NEPSE markets — does something more useful. It sorts every trader into one of five leagues, each with an animal identity, and shows you exactly how far the next one is.
The five leagues
Your league is your rank as a share of all traders. That single design choice — percentile, not a fixed coin number — is what keeps the ladder fair as the community grows: top 1% means top 1% whether StockYatra has a thousand traders or a million.

Your league card shows your title, a “Top X%” label, and how many ranks you have left to climb to the next league. Lions get a different message: apex predator — defend the crown. The #1 trader also wears a lion in the friends list and in the Yatra Users directory, and the top three carry a podium chip, so league standing travels with you everywhere in the app.
A second ladder: net-worth tiers
Percentiles are fair, but they do not give you a concrete number to chase. So your own rank card also shows a net-worth tier: Bronze from 0 coins, Silver from 50,000, Gold from 100,000, Platinum from 250,000 and Diamond from 500,000. Two ladders, two kinds of motivation: one relative to everyone else, one that is entirely yours.
How the leaderboard itself works
- Ranked by coins. The board shows the top 50 traders.
- Live. For the top 50, the app streams net worth and unrealised P&L every four seconds, so you can watch a trader’s open positions move in real time — “making moves now”.
- Presence. The “online now” count is real: a trader counts as online for a short window after they leave.
- Verified to rank. Unverified traders see “verify to keep your rank”. Verification is the same one-time email or phone step that unlocks Global chat.
What it actually takes to climb
Because the board ranks coins, and coins follow discipline rather than luck, the traders who climb leagues and stay there tend to do four unglamorous things.
- Protect the downside. A stop on every trade, no revenge trades. One blown account is worth more ranks than ten good trades gain.
- Size sensibly. Leverage is chosen per trade; the default cap is 5x and the hard maximum is 10x. Most Lions live well under the cap.
- Earn off-market. Coins also come from the academy, quizzes and referrals. A steady learner out-earns a gambler over a month.
- Stay verified and consistent. Rank decays for the inactive; the learning streak on your profile is the best predictor of who is still in their league next month.
