What shipped
Six pieces, one goal: make learning to trade something you do with other people.
- Global chat — one shared room for the whole StockYatra community. Ask what a circuit breaker does, share what your trading journal taught you this week, explain why you think a support level held.
- Friends — send a request from a profile, from the directory or from someone you have been talking to; the other person accepts or declines, and you can cancel a request any time. There is no public record of a decline.
- Direct messages — private, one-to-one, and only between current friends. Remove a friend and the conversation closes.
- @mentions and quoted replies — swipe a message right to quote it in your reply; tap a quote to jump to the original; see when a friend is typing.
- Yatra Users — a directory of every trader with their flag, verified tick, league and rank, level, trade count, achievements, learning streak and last-active time. Search by name or trader ID; filter by online now, verified, my friends, Session Toppers, country, minimum level and trading style.
- Notifications inbox — friend requests, replies and mentions in one place, plus a floating chat head so a conversation is never more than a tap away.

Why a simulator needs a community
A paper-trading app teaches mechanics: order tickets, stop-losses, take-profits, position sizing. StockYatra has done that since launch — here is how it works. But mechanics are only half of trading. The other half is judgement, and judgement grows fastest when you have to explain your thinking to another person and hear how they would have done it differently.
Trading also gives feedback that is noisy and delayed. A good decision can lose coins; a bad one can get lucky. Alone, it is very hard to tell which is which, so beginners learn the wrong lesson from a single result and quietly build the wrong habits. Other people are the fastest correction for that — not because they are always right, but because they ask the questions you would never ask yourself.
Built to be the opposite of a tip group
If you have ever joined a share-market group on social media you know how it goes: a flood of “buy now” messages, screenshots of profits nobody can check, and beginner questions that get ignored. Every design decision in StockYatra’s community pushes the other way.
Verified to post. Most spam in open rooms comes from throwaway accounts that cost nothing to create. Requiring a one-time email or phone verification to post raises that cost just enough to keep the room made of real learners, while staying free and quick. Reading is open to everyone — plenty of people lurk for a week before asking their first question.
No tips, by rule. “Which share should I buy?” is not a question the community answers. The rules ban buy/sell tips and “sure-shot” calls outright, and the room is for reasoning: why you entered, where your stop is, what the circuit breaker actually did during a big move.
Only StockYatra links are tappable. Everything else stays plain text, so nobody can drop a link to a shady tip group. Abusive words are masked automatically, and moderators can remove messages, mute or ban repeat offenders.
Friends-only inboxes. Open inboxes are where scams and harassment thrive. Tying direct messages to an accepted friendship puts you in control of who can reach you privately.
What this means for the Lacspace ecosystem
StockYatra is one of the consumer products in the Lacspace family, and this update is the clearest statement yet of how we think about learning products: the simulator teaches the mechanics, the academy teaches the theory, the leagues keep score honestly, and now the community supplies the one ingredient software cannot — another person who cares whether you improve.

No. The rules are short and firm: be respectful, no buy/sell tips or “sure-shot” calls, no spam, keep personal details private, and report anything that breaks the rules. Abusive words are masked automatically and moderators can remove messages, mute or ban.
Who can send me a direct message?
Only people who are currently your friend. You choose who to accept, and if you remove a friend the conversation closes. Nobody can message you out of the blue with a “guaranteed return” offer.
Does the community cost anything or involve real money?
No. Like the rest of StockYatra, the community layer is free. You practise with virtual coins that have no cash value, on live NEPSE data, and there is still no per-trade fee.
Is the community available on iPhone and Android?
The update ships in the StockYatra app, which is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android. Coins, rank and your profile are the same account across devices.
