If you last opened StockYatra at the start of 2026, the app you come back to is a different product. Lacspace’s paper-trading simulator on live NEPSE markets has shipped three big waves of features this year — and every one of them is free, on the same virtual coins, with the same Rs 0 per trade. 1.1.0 — turning practice into a habit (August)
The 1.1.0 release was, in StockYatra’s own words, its biggest update yet, and it landed on iPhone and iPad as well as Android and the web.
- Price alerts — be told the moment a stock rises above or falls below a price you choose, even with the app closed. Up to 50 active alerts per account.
- Watchlist — star any stock and see a live summary: how many are up versus down, your best and worst movers.
- Full stock pages — live-simulated price, today’s range, a trend chart, your position if you hold one, company news, and Buy / Sell always within reach.
- Manage open positions — adjust stop-loss and take-profit on a running trade without closing it. Practise moving a stop to break-even or trailing a target.
- Live NEPSE ticker — the home screen shows whether the market is open and streams prices past.
- Richer notifications — trade closed, stop or target hit, level-up, price alert — each with a matching visual.
- Now on iPhone — the App Store launch, covered in StockYatra is now on iOS.
The Trader Card release — your profile leaves the app
- Shareable Trader Card — rank, win rate, streak and archetype on a designed card; save to your gallery or share to Instagram, WhatsApp and more in one tap.
- Refer & Earn — invite friends with your code: they start with 12,000 coins instead of 10,000, and you earn 5,000 per verified friend. Full details in Refer & Earn.
- Rate in-app — no more jumping to the store; rating once earns a one-time 5,000-coin bonus.
- Profile links now open directly in the app.
The community update — learning stops being lonely (September)
The largest change of the year. On 24 September StockYatra added a full community layer, free, inside the app:
- Global chat — one room for every verified trader; anyone can read, verified traders post; no tips, abuse masked, only StockYatra links tappable, moderated.
- Friends — request, accept, decline, cancel; the friends list shows rank, level, online status and your last message.
- Direct messages — private and friends-only; swipe-to-reply quotes and typing indicators.
- @mentions, a floating chat head and a notifications inbox.
- Yatra Users — a searchable, filterable directory of every trader.

Is StockYatra still free after all these updates?
Yes. Every feature is free, there is still no per-trade fee, and every account still starts with 10,000 virtual coins. Coins have no cash value. Buying coins is switched off in the mobile app; a small optional web top-up exists but is never a per-trade charge.
Which markets does StockYatra cover?
Live NEPSE equities and the NEPSE Index — currently 31 symbols such as NABIL, NICA and GBIME. Prices stream live, so practice reflects the real Nepali market.
Where can I get StockYatra?
On the App Store for iPhone and iPad, on Google Play for Android, and on the web at stockyatra.com. Your account, coins and rank are shared across all of them.
How many price alerts can I set?
Up to 50 active alerts per account, each triggering when a stock rises above or falls below the price you choose. Alerts arrive as push notifications even when the app is closed.
