Lacspace Game Studio has a second game on the way, and it is the one many of our players have asked for: real cricket, made in Nepal. NPL Cricket League is an online T20 franchise cricket game for iPhone and Android. Its aim is the feel of a night match in Nepal: a floodlit ground with the hills behind it, a crowd that gets loud when the ball clears the rope, and commentary and menus in Nepali, with English one tap away.
The game is in development. This article explains what we are building, what you can already try, and the promises we are making about how it will be built.
What NPL Cricket League is
| NPL Cricket League | |
|---|---|
| Game | Online T20 franchise cricket |
| Platforms | iOS and Android (in development) |
| Languages | Nepali and English, both complete |
| Teams | Nepal’s 8 T20 franchises by name, with our own crests |
| Players | Fictional cricketers created for the game |
| Computer opponent | Lumi AI |
| Website | nplcricket.app (English) and nplcricket.app/ne (Nepali) |

Fully online, and fair
Ranked matches against real players, rooms with friends, seasons and live events are all part of the plan. The match server will decide every ball from the inputs it receives, such as your shot, your timing and the delivery, so nobody can fake a score from their phone. When no suitable opponent is free, Lumi AI will step in after a short wait, the same opponent players already know from Game Collection.
Built like a broadcast
The camera sits behind the batter, as it does on TV. Every ball has a line, a length and a speed, shown on a speed gun. Umpires signal fours, sixes and wickets. The 3D view is drawn in real metres, so the ball grows as it comes at you and its shadow tells you the length. How that engine grew out of Game Collection is a story of its own.
Nepali at heart
Every menu, every line of commentary and every chant is planned in Nepali, with English always available. The soundtrack is planned around Nepali instruments such as the madal, sarangi and bansuri, and the seasons follow Nepal’s calendar, with a Dashain Cup and a Tihar Lights night series among the planned events. Building a game in two languages explains what that takes.
All eight franchises, by name
The game features the eight franchises of Nepal’s T20 league, from the Sudurpaschim Royals in the far west to the Biratnagar Kings in the east. In the game, each one has a crest, colours, a venue and a style of play that we designed ourselves. These are not the franchises’ official logos or kits, and we will add official logos only with the franchises’ permission. Every player in the game is fictional, created by our team, so no real cricketer’s name or likeness is used.
| Franchise | Home | Game venue | Motto |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biratnagar, Koshi | Eastern Arena | The east comes to rule. | |
| Bharatpur, Bagmati | Narayani Park | Hard to stop once we charge. | |
| Janakpur, Madhesh | Mithila Stadium | Strike like lightning. | |
| Birendranagar, Karnali | Highland Ground | Built for the high ground. | |
| Kathmandu, Bagmati | Valley Ground | Brave from the first ball. | |
| Siddharthanagar, Lumbini | Siddhartha Ground | Calm minds, loud roar. | |
| Pokhara, Gandaki | Lakeside Oval | Every loss gets answered. | |
| Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim | Far West Arena | The far west, royally. |
Crests shown are Lacspace Game Studio’s own designs for the game, not the franchises’ official logos.

Our promises
- Honest about status. Until it ships, we call it in development. We will not show invented download counts, ratings or player numbers.
- Fair play. The server decides outcomes, and pay-to-win will never be part of it. Cosmetics are the most we plan to sell, and not at launch.
- Nepali first. Nepali is a full language in the game, not a translation layer added at the end.
The logo, a gold hexagon badge with a batter mid-shot and a burning ball, went through thirty concepts before we chose it. Here is how we designed it.
