Leverage: up to 5x
Leverage is one of the most important concepts in trading — and one of the least well understood by new traders, because it is hard to practise safely with real money. With StockYatra Pro, you can open leveraged positions using virtual coins on real market prices.
How it works: you choose a leverage multiplier, up to 5x, when opening a position. Your notional exposure is your coin stake multiplied by the leverage. Gains and losses are calculated on the full exposure, not just your stake. A 10% move in your favour on a 5x position earns 50% of your stake. A 10% move against you loses 50% of your stake.
Smart orders: limit, stop and trailing stop
Market orders fill immediately at the best available price. That is useful, but it is only one tool. Professional traders use smart orders for precision and discipline: they set a limit price, or a stop, or a trailing stop, and let the trade execute automatically when the conditions are met.
What each order type does:
- Limit order — you set the maximum price you will pay to buy (or the minimum you will accept to sell). The order only fills at that price or better. This lets you enter a trade at a specific level without watching the screen.
- Stop order — you set a trigger price. When the market hits that price, a market order is sent. Stop orders are used to cut losses or enter breakouts at a predetermined level.
- Trailing stop — the stop price follows the market up as your position moves in your favour, but stays put if the market turns. This locks in profit as a trade runs, without requiring you to watch it constantly.
