Lacspace Game Studio has a new game on the way: Ludo Fighters: Battle Board. It keeps the board, the dice and the race home that everyone grew up with, and changes one thing that matters a lot. Every piece is a cartoon soldier, and every capture is a gun fight.
The game is finished and has been submitted for review on Google Play and the App Store. This article explains what it is, what is in it, and what we are promising about how it plays.

Soldiers instead of pawns
Each piece is a small soldier in its squad’s colour, with a helmet, a vest and a rifle. They walk square to square, they take cover on safe stars, and they talk: 39 recorded squad callouts such as “Enemy spotted!” and “Man down!”, each with a speech bubble over the soldier who says it.

A gun fight on every capture
Land exactly on an enemy and your soldier stops one square short. Both sides raise their weapons, shots ring out, and the enemy is knocked out, vanishes in a puff of smoke and respawns at base. Then your soldier steps onto the square. The whole fight takes about 1.3 seconds, and you can tap the board to skip it. Each fight picks a weapon: a pistol, a rifle burst, a shotgun, a sniper shot across a long gap, or a grenade lobbed on an arc. Soldiers on safe stars are protected by a shield, and the shot ricochets off. Here is the whole fight, frame by frame.
Up to six squads, four ways to play
Every mode seats 2 to 6 squads: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple and Orange. Five or six squads play on a six-house board; smaller games use the classic four-house board. You can play a quick battle against three Lumi AI squads with one tap, build a Custom match with your own house rules, pass one phone round the table with friends, or join Online squads with players on their own phones. Our guide to the modes covers each one.
Lumi AI, the opponent players know from our other games, fills any empty seat. In Ludo Fighters it has five personalities, from Rookie to Commander, and it plays with the same dice and information as you. Meet the five personalities.
A new name and a new icon
In the stores the game is called Ludo Fighters: Battle Board. Its icon is a four-colour Ludo board with a helmeted soldier at home in the middle, so it reads as Ludo first and a battle game second.

Our promises
- Classic stays simple. The familiar rules are always there, and every house rule is a switch.
- No pay-to-win, ever. If we ever sell anything, it will be cosmetic only. Nothing you buy will move faster, shoot better or survive longer.
- The rules decide, the animations only show it. A fight never adds a second roll of the dice. If you land exactly on an unshielded enemy, he is knocked out.
- Lumi AI never cheats. It rolls the same random dice and never knows the next roll.
- Cartoon combat. No blood, no gore, and settings to quieten or skip the fights. Our parents’ guide explains exactly what players see and hear.
- Honest marketing. No invented ratings, downloads, dates or prices.
